Horse Crazy
Why do
I like horses?
I surely must be mad.....
My mother wasn't horsey
And neither was my Dad.
The madness hit me early--
It hit me like a curse.
Not only has it never left,
In
fact it's gotten worse.
My stables are immaculate.
My house is like a hovel.
Last
year I got for birthday gifts,
A wheelbarrow and a shovel.
One eye is always on the
sky,
My washing waves in vain,
I rush to get the horses in,
In case it's gonna rain.
I
cannot bake a proper roast,
I rarely even try;
But I can hitch a trailer,
In the
twinkling of an eye.
Once in every-now-and-then,
I'll dress up for a ball.
Fancy dress,
and high hair-do,
With high heel shoes and all.
I ache from long-forgotten falls.
My
knees have got no skin.
My toes all have a funny shape.
From being stepped upon.
